Pelvic Floor Therapy/Pelvic Health

Specializing in individualized treatment of urinary, bowel, pelvic pain, and sexual dysfunction for people of all ages and genders. May include any combination of evaluation and treatment involving intravaginal and/or intrarectal assessment, manual therapies, exercise and movement, education, and other therapeutic modalities.

Sarah has been an occupational therapist for over 20 years, with degrees from SUNY Buffalo, VCU, and Shenandoah University. She is currently faculty for Shenandoah University’s Division of Occupational Therapy. Sarah has presented on topics in pelvic health for the Virginia Occupational Therapy Association, the American Occupational Therapy Association, and the OT’s in Pelvic Health Summit, and supports myPFM, an organization helping to enhance pelvic health education worldwide. She is a teaching assistant for the Herman & Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute, and lectures frequently on topics related to pelvic health to students, professionals and the public.

Throughout her extensive clinical experience, Sarah has trained in techniques involving myofascial release, trauma-informed care, cognitive-based approaches, Pregnancy and Postpartum Corrective Exercises, and is certified in Biofeedback for Pelvic Muscle Dysfunction through the Biofeedback Certification International Alliance.

When Sarah is not teaching, facilitating research, or working in clinical practice, you can find her enjoying time with her husband, children, and cat, reading, or practicing yoga.
